Punjab Teachers Hardship e-Transfer Round 2026: Schedule, Categories & How to Apply

The Punjab School Education Department has opened the 2026 e-Transfer round specifically for teachers applying under hardship categories. Online applications through SIS are scheduled from 28 September to 8 October 2026.

The notified categories are Divorced/Widow/Khula, Differently Abled, Medical, Wedlock, Circumstantial Single Parent, and Transfer of Female Teacher upon Marriage. This is not a general or open-merit transfer round.

The School Education Department notification dated 23 September 2026 sets out the following hardship-round timeline:

Only the six hardship categories named in the opening notification are listed below. The order also reflects the 9 May 2025 amendment's sequence of preference when multiple teachers seek the same post or station under different hardship categories; it does not guarantee any applicant a transfer.

This round operates under the School Education Department's e-Transfer Policy 2024, as amended from time to time. The 9 May 2025 amendment added transfer of a female teacher upon marriage to the hardship framework. It defines this as a transfer after marriage to the proximity of her spouse's residence or workplace, once in the whole service.

The amendment also provides for hardship-ground transfer orders through SIS throughout the year. The dates above remain the specific processing schedule announced for this hardship round.

Submit the application online through SIS during 28 September–8 October 2026 under the relevant hardship category. Supporting documents depend on that category and must meet the applicable e-Transfer Policy and checklist. Cases then proceed through the notified hardship committee process.

The notification does not supply a new SIS URL or prescribe additional on-screen steps; applicants should follow the official SIS process and departmental instructions.

A teacher may file a representation against a DHC decision before the DGRC from 18 October to 3 November 2026. The schedule gives the DGRC 4–20 November to process representations and the Departmental Hardship Committee 21–27 November to process recommendations.

After Departmental Hardship Committee approval, QR-coded hardship transfer/posting orders are scheduled through SIS for 29–30 November 2026. An aggrieved teacher may appeal against that committee's decision before the Special Secretary (Operations), School Education Department, within seven days from issuance of the transfer order.

The notification says QR-coded transfer/posting orders on hardship grounds will be issued through the SIS Portal. The amended policy provides for hardship-ground orders through SIS throughout the year. An application or committee review does not by itself guarantee a transfer order.
