GPF calculator for Federal Government employees in Pakistan with a savings ledger and rupee coins

Quick answer

What this calculator does

Use this Federal Government GP Fund Calculator to select BS-1 to BS-22, load the prescribed monthly subscription under the notification dated 13 August 2026, and project contributions, markup and an estimated closing balance from your latest official GP Fund statement. The revised subscription applies from the salary for August 2026, payable on 1 September 2026, until further orders.

GP Fund subscription and GP Fund markup are separate. The subscription is the prescribed monthly deduction, while markup is credited at the applicable government-determined fiscal-year rate. The calculator’s default 12.05% rate is the official rate for FY 2025-26; it must not be presented as a FY 2026-27 markup rate.

Choose the correct balance, start month and period

First enter the balance available immediately before your projection begins. Next select the first month to include, and then select the number of consecutive months you want to estimate. The calculator will apply its existing subscription, additional-contribution and markup projection for those months.

Enter the GP Fund balance immediately before the selected projection start month. For an August 2026 projection, use the balance standing at the end of July 2026. If your latest official statement is older, you may use its closing balance, but later contributions, withdrawals or adjustments will not be included.

Default: 12.05% for FY 2025-26. This is not a FY 2026-27 rate.

Select the first contribution month included in the estimate. If you select August 2026, the first subscription, optional contribution and estimated markup entry will be for August 2026.

Select how many consecutive months to project from the start month. For example, six months from August 2026 covers August 2026 through January 2027; twelve months covers August 2026 through July 2027.

Optional scenario input; leave blank to use only the notified subscription.

Selected subscription: Rs. 722 per month for BS-1
Notification rule: 3% of mean basic pay (Rs. 24,080), with the displayed prescribed amount rounded to the official table value.

How to Use the GP Fund Calculator

  1. Select your Basic Pay Scale: choose BS-1 to BS-22.
  2. Check your monthly subscription: the calculator loads the prescribed amount from the 13 August 2026 notification.
  3. Check your opening balance: use an official GP Fund statement to verify the balance before your selected projection start month.
  4. Enter the markup rate: use the official rate for the relevant fiscal year. The default 12.05% is for FY 2025-26.
  5. Choose the period: select the start month and number of months.
  6. Calculate and review: check contributions, estimated markup, the month-by-month schedule and closing balance.

How to verify your inputs before calculating

Confirm your Basic Pay Scale and current GP Fund deduction from your latest pay slip, and use an official GP Fund statement to verify the balance and transactions before your projection starts. Do not enter transactions again when they are already reflected in that balance.

The calculator does not contain separate inputs for advances, withdrawals, refunds or missing deductions. If any such transaction occurred after the date of your statement, the projection may not match the departmental ledger. Obtain an updated statement or confirm the adjustment with your accounts office or AGPR before relying on the estimate.

Employees of autonomous or semi-autonomous bodies should not assume that the Federal Government subscription table automatically applies to them. They should confirm that their organization has adopted the notification and verify the applicable deduction with their accounts office.

Example: BS-16 Federal Government employee

This engine-generated scenario uses BS-16, an opening balance of Rs. 500,000 standing immediately before August 2026, an applicable markup rate of 12.05%, a projection start month of August 2026, a calculation period of 12 months and an additional monthly contribution of Rs. 0. The notification lists a mean basic pay of Rs. 74,520 and a prescribed monthly GP Fund subscription of Rs. 5,962 for BS-16. The projection gives:

Opening balance

Rs. 500,000

Annual contributions

Rs. 71,544

Estimated markup

Rs. 68,537.56

Estimated closing balance

Rs. 640,081.56

This engine-generated result is an estimate based on the entered assumptions and a simple monthly projection. It is not an official AGPR statement balance.

What is GP Fund?

General Provident Fund, commonly called GP Fund or GPF, is a provident fund arrangement for eligible government employees. Employee subscriptions accumulate in the fund, and markup may be credited according to applicable government rules and the rate notified for a fiscal year.

What is GP Fund subscription?

GP Fund subscription is the monthly amount deducted from an employee's salary and credited to the General Provident Fund. The 13 August 2026 notification prescribes monthly amounts by Basic Pay Scale using the mean basic pay of the relevant scale and the stated minimum subscription rules.

What is GP Fund markup?

GP Fund markup is the return or credit applied to the fund balance under the applicable government-determined rate and rules. It is separate from the monthly subscription and can change by fiscal year. It should not be described as a bank interest rate.

Why is the subscription not a simple percentage of actual basic pay?

The notification provides a prescribed monthly subscription based on the mean of the relevant Basic Pay Scale, while also stating minimum subscription rates: 3% of mean basic pay for BS-1, 5% for BS-2 to BS-11, and 8% for BS-12 to BS-22. These 3%, 5% and 8% figures are subscription rates, not GP Fund markup rates. Therefore, this calculator uses the notified BS-wise amount instead of applying a percentage to each employee's current actual basic pay.

For example, BS-16 has a mean basic pay of Rs. 74,520 and a prescribed monthly subscription of Rs. 5,962. The figure is a notified scale-based amount, not a claim that every employee in BS-16 has exactly the mean basic pay.

What changed in Federal GP Fund subscriptions for 2026-27?

Notification No. F. N. 2(1)R-7/2026-0001 is dated 13 August 2026. The prescribed subscriptions are based on mean pay under the Basic Pay Scales 2022. The notification uses 3% for BS-1, 5% for BS-2 to BS-11 and 8% for BS-12 to BS-22, with the prescribed BS-wise monthly amounts already shown in the table above.

The revised deductions apply from August 2026 salary, payable on 1 September 2026, until further orders. The supplied 2026 notification does not provide the previous BS-wise monthly subscription schedule, so this page does not claim or calculate a rupee or percentage increase from 2025-26.

This page does not show a rupee or percentage increase over the previous subscription schedule because the cited 13 August 2026 notification does not reproduce the previous BS-wise monthly amounts.

Official GP Fund markup-rate references

The new 2026-27 rates in the subscription notification are 3%, 5% and 8% by BS range; they are not markup rates. Markup is separate from subscription. The latest official markup notification currently used by this page reports 12.05% for FY 2025-26. No separate FY 2026-27 markup percentage is stated in the subscription notification, so the calculator does not invent one.

How markup affects the estimated GP Fund balance

This calculator uses a transparent monthly projection for planning:

Monthly estimated markup = (opening balance + contribution) × (annual markup rate ÷ 12)

Estimated closing balance = opening balance + contribution + estimated markup. The contribution includes the notified monthly subscription and any optional additional monthly amount entered by the user.

Actual government accounting may use different timing, balances, withdrawals, credits or other ledger rules. The result is therefore a GP Fund contribution and markup estimate, not an official AGPR ledger calculation.
