Retiring-Year Increment: The Six-Month Condition

For a Federal Government employee retiring from 1 June through 30 November, the calculator adds the selected BPS increment once after averaging the final 24 months of basic pay. It does not change any of the entered historical monthly pay figures.

No separate retiring-year increment is added for retirement from 1 January through 31 May. For retirement on or after 1 December, enter the basic pay already applicable after the normal 1 December increment; the calculator does not add it again.

Qualifying-service rounding remains unchanged: 1–6 additional months are ignored, while 7–11 months add one year, subject to the calculator's existing cap. The retiring-year increment depends on the retirement date and BPS, not on promotion timing.

What Can This Federal Pension Calculator Calculate?

This calculator can help estimate Federal Government monthly pension, gross and net pension, 24-month pensionable emoluments, qualifying service, BPS increment, medical allowance, commutation, gratuity and the applicable configured pension increases.

Who should use this Federal pension estimate?

This page is intended for a Federal civil servant whose pension case is governed by the defined-benefit rules implemented in this calculator. Before relying on the estimate, confirm with your department and the Accountant General Pakistan Revenues that your appointment and service fall under this pension arrangement.

Employees covered by the Federal Defined Contribution Pension Fund Scheme or another contributory arrangement should follow that scheme's official process instead of treating this calculator result as a pension sanction or Pension Payment Order.

Prepare the Federal pension case for departmental and AGPR verification

Use the employee's service book, retirement order and complete 24-month basic-pay record when preparing the estimate. Check every monthly pay entry, promotion or re-fixation entry and the applicable retiring-year increment before comparing the result with the departmental pension papers. AGPR or the responsible accounts authority must verify the official pension case and issue the applicable authorization.

Use the Pakistan Basic Pay Scale Calculator and Federal Government GP Fund Calculator for related planning. Browse the calculator hub; KPK and Balochistan employees should use the KPK or Balochistan calculator instead.

What Information Do You Need?

Prepare BPS, date of birth, date of appointment, date of retirement, pensionable emoluments, qualifying-service details and the monthly pay details required by the calculator. Enter the information carefully because the pension estimate depends on these details.

How Is Federal Pension Calculated?

Federal Government pension is estimated using pensionable emoluments, qualifying service and the applicable pension calculation method. The calculator uses the information you provide to estimate gross pension and other applicable pension benefits.

This calculator does not determine family-pension entitlement, beneficiary shares, restoration of commuted pension or benefits payable under a separate pension or contributory scheme.

Federal Gross Pension Formula

The calculator uses the 7/300 pension formula for estimating gross pension, based on the pensionable pay and qualifying service entered. Net pension is 65% of gross pension and the commuted portion is 35% of gross pension.

Age and Qualifying Service

Age is calculated from the date of retirement and date of birth. Service is calculated from appointment to retirement. Extra months from 1 through 6 are ignored, while extra months from 7 through 12 add one year; counted service is capped at 30 years.

24-Month Pensionable Emoluments

The calculator uses pensionable emoluments over the relevant 24-month period to determine the pay used in the pension calculation. Enter the required monthly pay details carefully for a more accurate estimate. The period includes the retirement month and the preceding 23 months.

BPS Increment and Pensionable Pay

The calculator considers the applicable BPS increment when determining pensionable pay. Your BPS and retirement details can affect the final pension estimate. Additional pensionable components can be entered for each month only where allowed and applicable.

Pension Increases

Where applicable, the calculator includes the pension increases used in its calculation rules. These increases can affect the estimated pension amount shown in the result. They are applied sequentially for 2011 at 15%, 2015 at 7.5%, 2022 at 15%, 2023 at 17.5%, and 2024 at 15%.

Medical Allowance on Federal Pension

Using Net Pension before increases, Medical Allowance 2010 is 20% of 75% of Net Pension for Gazetted employees and 25% of Net Pension for Non-Gazetted employees. Medical Allowance 2015 is 25% of Medical Allowance 2010 for both classifications.

Federal Government Pension Gratuity

Gratuity is calculated as Commuted Pension × 12 × Age Factor. The shared Pakistan age-rate table used by the pension calculators is applied.

Federal Pension Commutation

The commuted pension portion is estimated as 35% of gross pension. The result shows this portion separately and uses it with the age factor when estimating gratuity.

How to Use the Federal Pension Calculator

  1. Enter the employee name, department, designation and BPS.
  2. Enter the service dates from the verified service record.
  3. Enter basic pay for all 24 displayed months, including the retirement month and preceding 23 months.

Frequently Asked Questions About Federal Pension

What is the Federal Pension Calculator 2026?

The Federal Pension Calculator 2026 is an online tool for estimating the pension of Federal Government employees. It uses pensionable emoluments, qualifying service, BPS and retirement details to calculate an estimated pension.

How do I confirm whether the Federal defined-benefit or DCP scheme applies?

Confirm the appointment and service arrangement with the department and AGPR. Employees covered by the Federal Defined Contribution Pension Fund Scheme or another contributory arrangement should use that scheme’s official process.

Why does the Federal calculator require 24 monthly basic-pay entries?

It includes the retirement month and the preceding 23 months, then uses the monthly pensionable-emoluments information entered for those 24 months.

Which office should verify a Federal pension case?

The responsible department and Accountant General Pakistan Revenues must verify the official pension case and issue the applicable authorization.

Does this calculator issue an AGPR Pension Payment Order?

No. HisaabKit provides a planning estimate only; it does not issue an AGPR Pension Payment Order, pension sanction or departmental decision.

Does the Federal calculator determine family-pension entitlement or beneficiary shares?

No. It does not determine family-pension eligibility, beneficiary shares, payment duration or succession-related benefits.

What are pensionable emoluments for Federal Government pension?

Pensionable emoluments are the pay considered for calculating pension under the applicable pension rules. This calculator uses the relevant 24-month pensionable-emoluments information entered by the user.

When does the Federal pension calculator add the retiring-year increment?

It adds the selected BPS increment once after the 24-month average only when retirement falls from 1 June through 30 November. It is not inserted into the historical monthly pay entries.

Why is no separate increment added for retirement in December?

The normal annual increment takes effect from 1 December. The user should enter the basic pay actually applicable after that increment, so adding another retiring-year increment would count it twice.

Is the six-month retiring-year increment rule the same as qualifying-service rounding?

No. The retiring-year increment condition decides whether an annual increment is included for pension purposes. Qualifying-service rounding separately decides how a fraction of a service year is counted. Changing one must not change the other.

What if the employee was promoted during the retirement year?

Promotion and pay re-fixation can require case-specific treatment. Use pensionable pay verified by the department or Accountant General because the calculator does not collect enough information to reconstruct every promotion-related re-fixation.

How is qualifying service rounded?

Extra service months from 1 through 6 are ignored. Extra months from 7 through 12 add one year. Counted service is capped at 30 years.

How are Federal pension increases applied?

Starting with the original Net Pension, the calculator applies 2011 at 15%, 2015 at 7.5%, 2022 at 15%, 2023 at 17.5%, and 2024 at 15% sequentially. The total after 2024 is the fixed baseline pension.

How are Federal medical allowances calculated?

Using Net Pension before increases, Medical Allowance 2010 is Net Pension x 75% x 20% for Gazetted employees and Net Pension x 25% for Non-Gazetted employees. Medical Allowance 2015 is 25% of the 2010 amount for both classifications.

How are Federal commutation and gratuity calculated?

The calculator estimates the commuted pension portion as 35% of gross pension. Gratuity = Commuted Pension x 12 x the age factor for the retirement age. This calculator uses the shared Pakistan age-rate table selected for the pension calculators.

Why should the service book and pensionable emoluments be verified?

An official pension case depends on verified service and pay records. Dates, qualifying service and pensionable emoluments should be checked from the service book and departmental records before submission to the relevant pension authority or AGPR.

Is this an official Federal Government pension calculation or PPO?

No. HisaabKit provides a planning estimate only. The result is not an official Federal Government pension sanction, Pension Payment Order, AGPR calculation or departmental decision.

This HisaabKit Federal Pension Calculator is for planning and information only. It is not an official Federal Government pension sanction, PPO, pension order, or legal advice. Confirm the monthly pensionable pay, allowed components, service record, age factor and final result with the relevant department and pension authority.
