How the comparison works
- Your voluntary-retirement figures are calculated exactly from what you enter, with the same rules as that government's full pension calculator.
- The figures at 60 are an estimate. Pay is projected on the BPS 2026 scale with one increment every 1 December; after the scale maximum, increments continue as personal pay, except in Sindh, where pay stops at the maximum.
- Total money received over the years adds the salary you would earn until 60 (plus any other monthly allowances you enter), the gratuity and the monthly pension, up to ages 60, 70 and 80.
- The break-even age is when staying until 60 catches up with retiring now in total money received.
Estimates only. Assumes no future pay revisions or pension increases, and does not include income tax, GP Fund, leave encashment or inflation. Rules or scales may change.
Frequently Asked Questions About Voluntary Retirement
Is voluntary retirement pension reduced?
Yes in Federal, Balochistan and Punjab; no in Sindh and KPK. Federal and Balochistan reduce gross pension by 3% for each year to age 60, counted in completed months, up to 20%, and the reduction is not restored at 60. Punjab reduces net pension by age, from 10% at 55 to 2% at 59.
When does staying until 60 pay more?
When the salary you would earn until 60 and the higher pension at 60 add up to more than the gratuity and pension you would receive by retiring now. This calculator shows the break-even age, after which staying until 60 gives more in total.
Why can retiring early sometimes give more?
Because counted service is capped at 30 years and the age factor used for the gratuity is lower at 60. If your service already counts in full, staying longer does not add to it, so when the pension at 60 is not much higher, the earlier gratuity and extra years of pension can give more in total.
Are the age-60 figures exact?
No. They are an estimate: pay at 60 is projected on the BPS 2026 scale, and the estimate assumes no future pay revisions or pension increases. The figures for your voluntary date are calculated exactly from what you enter.
Is my data saved?
No. The calculators run in your browser and nothing you enter is stored. The comparison PDF is also created on your device.
