Punjab Leave Encashment Calculator — Quick Answer
This calculator estimates Punjab Government refused-LPR encashment from the initial/minimum pay of the selected Basic Pay Scale and the actual refused/admissible LPR period. It accepts up to 365 days. Leave at credit is not automatically the encashable LPR period; use the official LPR/refusal record whenever available.
What Can This Punjab Leave Encashment Calculator Calculate?
The result displays the selected BPS, initial pay used, actual refused/admissible LPR days, daily estimated rate, an explanatory 30-day-month and remaining-day breakdown, and the estimated leave encashment. It does not decide legal entitlement or issue a sanction.
Who Can Use This Calculator?
It is intended for Punjab Government civil servants considering a current refused-LPR case under the amended Rule 17 framework. Retirement cases before 1 June 2023 may fall under historical provisions. Always have admissibility verified by the relevant department and accounts authority.
How to Use the Calculator
- Enter the retirement date.
- Select the applicable BPS.
- Enter the actual refused/admissible LPR days from the official record.
- Optionally enter leave at credit as a cross-check.
- Calculate and review the initial pay, daily rate, period and estimated amount.
- Compare the estimate with departmental or accounts-office verification.
Do not automatically enter 365 days merely because accumulated leave is 365 days or more.
What Does Initial Pay Mean?
The calculator uses the initial/minimum basic pay of the selected BPS from HisaabKit's applicable BPS dataset. It does not use current running basic pay, last basic pay, allowances, pensionable pay or the pay received when service began. Check the underlying value with the Pakistan Basic Pay Scale Calculator.
What Are Refused / Admissible LPR Days?
This is the actual period used for the estimate: for example 90, 180, 265, 347 or 365 days. The maximum accepted is 365 days. The result's month-and-day conversion is explanatory only; the engine calculates directly from total days.
How Is Punjab Leave Encashment Estimated?
Daily estimated rate = Initial Pay ÷ 30
Estimated Leave Encashment = Daily Rate × Refused / Admissible LPR Days
HisaabKit applies the current initial-pay basis together with the 30-day leave-month convention reflected in the Revised Leave Rules to produce an estimate. Full precision is retained internally and only the final estimated PKR amount is rounded.
Worked Example: BPS-16 and 347 Days
Illustrative calculator example only — not an official sanction.
Initial pay
Rs 33,720
BPS-16
LPR period
347 days
11 complete 30-day months + 17 days
- Daily rate: Rs 33,720 ÷ 30 = Rs 1,124
- 11-month explanatory component: Rs 33,720 × 11 = Rs 370,920
- 17-day explanatory component: Rs 33,720 ÷ 30 × 17 = Rs 19,108
- Estimated total: Rs 390,028
For 365 days, the same BPS-16 initial pay produces Rs 33,720 ÷ 30 × 365 = Rs 410,260. It is not treated as only 12 × 30 days.
Important Rule and Procedure Points
Maximum LPR period
The calculator can estimate up to 365 actual refused/admissible days. That maximum is not an automatic entitlement for every case.
Why refused LPR matters
The current framework concerns written LPR application and refusal. Enter the final period appropriate to the official record.
Leave at credit versus refused LPR
Leave at credit is a useful cross-check only. It is not plugged into the monetary formula and does not itself determine the encashable period.
Monthly payment guidance
The 2024 guidance addresses monthly payment in lieu of refused LPR at initial pay. Confirm the payment treatment and record with the competent office.

Frequently Asked Questions About Punjab Leave Encashment
What is the Punjab Leave Encashment Calculator?
It is an estimate tool for Punjab Government refused/admissible LPR encashment. It uses the selected BPS initial pay and the actual refused/admissible days entered from the official record.
What is the maximum LPR period used by the calculator?
The calculator accepts an actual refused/admissible period from 1 to 365 whole days. It does not assume that every case uses the maximum.
Should I enter 365 days if my leave balance exceeds 365 days?
No. Leave at credit is not automatically the period to enter. Use the final refused/admissible LPR days recorded for your case.
What are refused/admissible LPR days?
They are the actual LPR days used for the estimate after the applicable application, refusal and record process. This calculator does not decide legal entitlement to a period.
Does the calculator use my current basic pay?
No. It uses the initial/minimum pay of the selected Basic Pay Scale, not current or last basic pay, allowances, or pensionable pay.
What does initial pay of the Basic Pay Scale mean?
It is the initial/minimum basic-pay value for the selected BPS in HisaabKit's current applicable BPS dataset. It is not the pay received when the employee first joined service.
How is the estimated leave encashment calculated?
The calculator divides initial pay by 30, multiplies it by the actual refused/admissible LPR days, and rounds only the final estimated PKR amount.
Why does the calculator divide initial pay by 30?
HisaabKit applies the current initial-pay basis with the 30-day leave-month convention reflected in the Revised Leave Rules to produce a transparent estimate.
Can I calculate encashment for less than 365 days?
Yes. Enter any whole number from 1 to 365, such as 90, 180, 265, 347 or 365, when that is the actual refused/admissible period.
What if my retirement date is before 1 June 2023?
This calculator does not calculate those cases under the current framework because earlier retirement cases may be governed by historical provisions. Check the relevant historical rules and records.
Is the calculator result an official sanctioned amount?
No. It is an estimate only. The sanctioned amount depends on the leave record, applicable rules, competent-authority decision and departmental/accounts verification.
Where can I read the official Punjab LPR rules and notifications?
Use the official-record cards on this page and the Punjab Leave Encashment & LPR Rules Guide. Verify the latest applicable position with your department or accounts office.
Estimate only: This calculator applies the current Punjab refused-LPR framework and uses the initial pay of the selected Basic Pay Scale. Actual admissibility and the sanctioned amount depend on your leave record, applicable rules, competent-authority decision and verification by the relevant department/accounts office.
