Editorial & Accuracy Policy
Who creates the content
Calculators, guides and updates are created and reviewed by Khyrat Hussain, founder of HisaabKit and a Secondary School Educator in Punjab's School Education Department since 2012, with experience in government finance, official drafting and parawise comments. Waseem Shehzad, Co-Founder & Technical Contributor, tracks updates from reliable official sources and supports the technical work.
Sources we rely on
We build calculators and write guides from official sources, including:
- Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) — Income Tax Ordinance, Finance Acts and circulars
- Finance Division, Government of Pakistan — office memoranda and notifications
- Provincial Finance Departments (Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan)
- Accountant General offices (AGPR and provincial AGs)
- Services & General Administration Departments and other government departments
- Published laws, rules and court judgments
Each calculator and guide lists its main official sources on the page. Where a rule is unclear or not yet officially published, we say so instead of guessing.
How calculators are built and tested
- Every formula follows the official rule, notification or instruction behind it.
- Worked examples are calculated by hand and compared with the calculator's result.
- Automated tests check the calculations of every live calculator, including edge cases, and must pass before each release.
- Assumptions and limitations are explained next to the result.
How guides and updates are written
- Guides explain rules in plain language, with worked examples and links to the official source.
- Updates summarise official notifications and explain what they mean for employees, with the original document linked where available.
- We do not publish rumours or unofficial "news". If a reported change is later withdrawn or not notified, we update or remove the page.
Use of AI tools
We sometimes use software tools, including AI, to help draft text, check calculations and find errors. Every calculator, guide and update is reviewed by a person against the official source before it is published, and the final content is our responsibility.
Keeping content up to date
When a rule, rate or notification changes, we update the affected calculators and guides and change the "Updated" date shown on the page. Major changes are noted in the relevant guide or update.
Corrections
If you find an error, please tell us through the Contact page, with the page link and, if possible, the official source. We review every report against official documents and correct confirmed errors as quickly as we can.
Independence and advertising
HisaabKit is independent and is not an official website of the Government of Pakistan or any department. All tools are free to use. The site may show advertising to cover hosting and development costs; advertisers have no influence over our calculations or content, and ads are always clearly separate from content.
Privacy
Calculators run in your browser. HisaabKit does not ask for your CNIC and does not save the figures you enter. See the Privacy Policy for details about analytics and cookies.
Not legal or financial advice
HisaabKit provides estimates and general information for planning. It is not legal, tax or financial advice. Your department, Accountant General office or FBR makes the final decision on your pay, pension or tax.
