Who Should Use This Private Salary Tax Calculator?

This online salary tax calculator is for employees of private companies, organizations, and businesses in Pakistan. It is useful when you want to estimate salary tax for the current tax year, understand your applicable salary tax slab, or plan for a promotion, increment, or change in monthly pay.

Do Private Employees Have Separate Salary Tax Slabs?

Private-sector employees do not have a separate FBR salary tax table merely because they work for a private employer. This calculator uses the applicable FY 2026–27 salaried-person tax slabs.

The difference is the salary-entry method. This private employee calculator does not use a government BPS or automatically add a December BPS increment. Use the same-salary mode when your gross salary remains unchanged, or use monthly entry when your salary changes because of a pay increase, bonus, unpaid period, job change or another adjustment.

How Does Private Salary Tax Calculation Work?

The calculator adds the gross salary amounts entered for July 2026 through June 2027 and identifies the applicable salaried-person tax slab from the annual total. It then applies the formula for that slab to estimate annual tax, effective rate, average monthly tax, and average monthly take-home.

The calculation uses the salary information you enter. It does not automatically determine every deduction, exemption, allowance, rebate, or other adjustment that may apply to your personal tax position.

Enter the gross salary for each month separately. The monthly amounts are added to calculate annual gross salary, and no BPS increment is applied. Blank months remain visibly marked as Rs 0.

Private Salary Tax Examples

Example: Private Employee Earning Rs 150,000 per Month

Suppose a private-sector employee receives a gross salary of Rs 150,000 every month from July 2026 through June 2027 and has no salary change during the year.

Monthly gross salary
Rs 150,000
Annual gross salary

Applicable formula
Rs 6,000 + 11% of the amount exceeding Rs 1,200,000
Amount exceeding Rs 1,200,000
Rs 600,000
Tax on excess amount
Rs 600,000 × 11% = Rs 66,000
Estimated annual tax
Rs 6,000 + Rs 66,000 = Rs 72,000
Average monthly tax
Rs 72,000 ÷ 12 = Rs 6,000
Effective tax rate
4%
Estimated average monthly take-home after income tax
Rs 144,000

This example assumes that the entered gross salary is used as the taxable salary for the calculator's estimate and that no deduction, exemption, rebate or other adjustment applies. Actual payroll deductions and personal tax liability may differ.

If the employee receives a pay increase, bonus or another salary change during the year, the monthly-entry mode can be used to enter the actual gross salary for each month.

Why use this private employee tax calculator?

It gives private-sector employees a clear online salary tax calculator without requiring a BPS selection. You can compare stable monthly salary with changing monthly pay and see how the annual total affects the Pakistan salary tax slab, annual tax, effective rate, and average monthly figures.

How Is Monthly Salary Tax Estimated?

The calculator first determines estimated annual tax for FY 2026–27. It then shows the average monthly tax by dividing the annual tax across the twelve-month period. This is a planning figure; the amount deducted from an individual payslip may differ because of payroll practices and other adjustments.

How Is Take-Home Salary Estimated?

Estimated average monthly take-home is calculated from the salary entered after considering the estimated annual salary tax. Actual take-home pay may differ because a payslip can include provident fund contributions, insurance, loans, allowances, deductions, or other payroll adjustments.

What Is Included in This Estimate?

This estimate uses the salaried-person tax rates for July 2026 through June 2027, adds the salary amounts entered, applies the relevant formula, and shows the annual tax, applicable slab, effective rate, average monthly tax, and estimated average monthly take-home.

It does not model every possible deduction, exemption, rebate, allowance, or individual payroll adjustment. For important tax decisions, verify the applicable rules with the latest official guidance from the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) or consult a qualified tax professional.
