How this calculator works
The engine first checks authorization, whether the destination lies outside the 16-kilometre radius and fixed-TA restrictions. It then determines the ordinary or special DA rate, counts eligible nights or a supported half-DA period, applies whole-kilometre road mileage, checks accommodation evidence and adds actual toll entered by the user.
Transparent components
DA, mileage, accommodation and toll remain separate in the result instead of being hidden behind one total.

The calculator focuses on authorized official domestic tours and identifies within-scope cases that require individual review.
Current Punjab TA/DA rates
These rates took effect on 1 July 2023. Amounts are in Pakistani rupees per admissible daily-allowance unit.

Road mileage rates used by the calculator are Rs 15/km for personal car or taxi, Rs 6/km for motorcycle or scooter, Rs 3/km for bicycle and Rs 3.75/km for public transport.
Ordinary and special-rate stations
The calculator can match exact notified station names. Mirpur must be identified as Mirpur (AJ&K). The notification's broad “Northern Areas” entry cannot safely classify every modern city name, so those cases require user confirmation or manual review.
Accommodation rules
With an eligible receipt, the special-station ceiling is five times the applicable special DA per night and the ordinary-station ceiling is two-and-a-half times ordinary DA per night. The allowed amount is the lower of actual rent and the ceiling. The calculator separately enforces the supported BPS 1–19 accommodation-type restrictions and the Sahiwal hotel exception.
Without a receipt, the verified BPS 20+ and BPS 1–19 ordinary-station branches use two applicable dailies per eligible night in addition to normal DA. BPS 1–19 at a special-rate station is blocked for manual review because the collected clarification is internally conflicting.
Important limitations
- One destination and one uninterrupted domestic tour only.
- Transfer, foreign-tour and training-course claims are governed by separate rules and are outside this calculator.
- A continuous halt beyond ten nights is not automatically authorized.
- The result is an estimate, not a sanction or determination of entitlement.

Punjab TA/DA calculator FAQs
Who can use the Punjab TA/DA Calculator?
It is designed for Punjab Government employees estimating a supported single-destination official domestic tour within Pakistan.
Is TA/DA payable for a journey of exactly 16 kilometres?
No. The journey must reach a point outside the 16-kilometre radius from headquarters, so exactly 16 kilometres does not pass this eligibility boundary.
How is Daily Allowance counted?
The calculator uses actual eligible nights. If no night intervenes but absence exceeds four hours, it applies one-half of the applicable DA rate.
What happens when the absence is four hours or less?
No DA is added. Eligible road mileage can still be assessed when the journey otherwise meets the rules.
Which destinations receive special DA?
The current notification lists Hyderabad, Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Peshawar, Quetta, Rawalpindi, Muzaffarabad, Mirpur (AJ&K), Sukkur, Bahawalpur, D.G. Khan, Sargodha, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Murree, with Northern Areas requiring confirmation.
Why does unqualified Mirpur require review?
The notified entry is Mirpur (AJ&K). The calculator does not assume that every destination named Mirpur is that notified station.
Does a government vehicle receive road mileage?
No. The mileage component is zero when government transport is provided, although other supported components are assessed separately.
How is accommodation with a receipt calculated?
For eligible nights, the allowed amount is limited to the actual room rent and the applicable ceiling: five special dailies or two-and-a-half ordinary dailies per night.
Why can BPS 1–19 special-station accommodation without a receipt not be calculated?
The collected official clarification contains conflicting wording for that exact branch, so the calculator requires manual review instead of choosing an interpretation.
What happens after a continuous halt of ten days?
The calculator estimates only the first ten nights and flags the later period for competent-authority or accounts-office review.
Does this calculator support transfer, training or foreign tours?
No. Those journeys have separate rules and are deliberately excluded from this V1 ordinary-tour engine.
Is the result an official sanctioned claim?
No. It is a transparent estimate. Actual admissibility depends on official records, authorization, applicable rules and departmental/accounts verification.
