What Is the Pakistan Basic Pay Scale Calculator 2026?

This BPS Calculator 2026 helps Pakistan government employees calculate basic pay by selecting a Basic Pay Scale and stage. It also works in reverse: enter your BPS and current basic pay to check whether the amount matches an exact pay stage. The BPS 1 to 22 basic pay table below is written in crawlable HTML so you can check the initial pay, annual increment, maximum stage and maximum basic pay without relying only on the interactive calculator.

To calculate basic pay from a BPS stage, use: Initial Basic Pay + (Stage × Annual Increment). This is a basic salary reference, not a Pakistan Government Salary Calculator for gross or take-home pay.

How to Use the Pakistan Basic Pay Scale Calculator

To calculate Basic Pay from BPS and Stage

  1. Select your BPS from BPS-1 to BPS-22.
  2. Select or enter your pay stage.
  3. Click Calculate basic pay.
  4. The calculator shows the basic pay for that BPS and stage.

To find your Stage from Basic Pay

  1. Select your BPS.
  2. Enter your current basic pay.
  3. Click Calculate basic pay.
  4. The calculator checks whether the amount corresponds exactly to a stage.
  5. If it matches, the exact stage is displayed.
  6. If it does not match, the calculator explains that the amount is not an exact stage and shows nearby valid stages where useful.

Example 1: Calculate BPS-16 Basic Pay from Stage 5

Suppose a government employee is appointed in BPS-16 and wants to know the basic pay at Stage 5.

Initial Basic Pay

Rs. 33,720

Annual Increment

Rs. 2,720

Stage

5

Basic Pay = 33,720 + (5 × 2,720)

Basic Pay = 33,720 + 13,600 = Rs. 47,320

If the BPS-16 basic pay is Rs. 47,320:

Stage = (47,320 − 33,720) ÷ 2,720 = 5

Rs. 47,320 is basic pay only. It does not represent the employee's total monthly salary because allowances and deductions are separate.

Example 2: Find a BPS-17 Stage from Basic Pay

Suppose an employee selects BPS-17 and enters a current basic pay of Rs. 87,020. The configured BPS-17 scale has an initial basic pay of Rs. 54,140, an annual increment of Rs. 4,110 and a maximum basic pay of Rs. 136,340.

Selected Scale

BPS-17

Entered Basic Pay

Rs. 87,020

Annual Increment

Rs. 4,110

Maximum Basic Pay

Rs. 136,340

Stage = (Entered Basic Pay − Initial Basic Pay) ÷ Annual Increment

Stage = (87,020 − 54,140) ÷ 4,110 = 8

Rs. 87,020 is an exact BPS-17 stage value, so the reverse lookup identifies Stage 8.

If an entered amount does not match an exact stage, the calculator reports that it is not an exact stage and may show nearby valid stages. It does not change or round the entered pay into an official stage.

What Is Stage 0?

Initial Basic Pay represents Stage 0 in this calculator's calculation model. This means the initial amount is not Stage 1; the first annual increment takes the employee from Stage 0 to Stage 1.

  • Stage 0 = Initial Basic Pay
  • Stage 1 = Initial Basic Pay + one annual increment
  • Stage 2 = Initial Basic Pay + two annual increments
  • Each later stage adds one more annual increment until the maximum stage for that BPS.

How Is Basic Pay Calculated?

Basic Pay = Initial Basic Pay + (Stage × Annual Increment)

See Example 1 above for a complete BPS-16 calculation. The formula makes every valid stage reproducible without storing hundreds of individual stage values.

Is This Basic Pay Scale Calculator for Government Employees Across Pakistan?

This Basic Pay Calculator Pakistan is intended as a reference for government employees working under the BPS structure, including employees in federal and provincial government services. Where the same BPS table is used, the calculation structure is common: initial basic pay plus the number of annual increments represented by the stage.

Basic Pay Scale and stage calculation should be kept separate from province-specific allowances and salary rules. Allowances, notifications, implementation dates, personal pay, deductions and other salary components can depend on the relevant government, department and notification. The calculator does not claim that every province has an identical complete salary package.

Use the calculator only where the displayed BPS table applies to the employee's government or department. Provincial implementation dates, pay-fixation treatment, personal pay and allowances may differ. Confirm the applicable scale, BPS and stage from the employee's pay slip, service book, departmental order or official Finance Department notification.

Frequently Asked Questions About BPS Basic Pay

What is the Pakistan Basic Pay Scale Calculator 2026?

It is a reference calculator for government employees who want to find basic pay from a BPS and stage, or check the exact stage represented by a current basic pay amount.

How do I calculate my basic pay from my BPS and stage?

Select your BPS, enter a stage from Stage 0 through the maximum stage for that BPS, and calculate. The result uses Initial Basic Pay + (Stage × Annual Increment).

What is Stage 0 in the Basic Pay Scale?

Stage 0 is the initial basic pay listed for the selected BPS. It does not add an annual increment.

How do I find my pay stage from my basic pay?

Select your BPS and enter your current basic pay in the reverse mode. An exact stage is returned only when the amount matches the BPS formula without rounding.

What is the annual increment in BPS?

The annual increment is the fixed amount added for each stage in the selected BPS. The amount differs from BPS-1 to BPS-22.

Does this calculator include allowances?

No. It calculates basic pay only. House rent, conveyance, medical, relief, special, disparity reduction, executive allowances and deductions are not included.

Does this calculator calculate gross salary?

No. Basic pay is one salary component. Gross salary can include allowances and other items that require a separate salary calculation.

Can I use this calculator for BPS-1 to BPS-22?

Yes. The reference table and calculator cover BPS-1 through BPS-22 using the configured 2026 basic pay values.

Is BPS basic pay the same as total government salary?

No. BPS basic pay is not the same as gross or take-home salary. Allowances, deductions and department-specific rules can change the final salary.

Can Federal and provincial government employees use this calculator?

Federal and provincial employees may use the calculator where the displayed BPS table applies to their government, department and effective period. Allowances, implementation dates and pay-fixation treatment may differ, so users should verify the applicable notification and official pay record.

How is maximum basic pay calculated?

Maximum basic pay equals Initial Basic Pay + (Maximum Stage × Annual Increment). The maximum stage depends on the selected BPS.

Why does my salary not exactly match a calculated stage?

Your amount may include an allowance, deduction, adjustment, personal pay or a value outside the configured stage range. The reverse calculator does not silently round non-exact amounts.

Where can I find official government pay-scale notifications?

Use the official Finance Division or provincial Finance Department references listed on this page. Confirm the latest notification for your government, department and effective date.

Is this calculator an official pay-fixation order?

No. It provides a basic-pay reference from the selected BPS, stage or entered pay. The employee’s department or accounts office remains responsible for official pay fixation and the authoritative salary record.

This Pakistan Basic Pay Scale & Stage Calculator is for reference and planning only. It calculates basic pay from the configured BPS-1 to BPS-22 values and does not include allowances, deductions, income tax, pension deductions, gross salary or take-home salary. Confirm your pay scale, stage, notification and complete salary package with the relevant government department. The result is a basic-pay reference, not an official pay-fixation order or departmental salary statement.
